Pair of Porcelain Vases with Dragon and Lotus Motifs
Pair of Chinese porcelain vases attributed to the Xuande period (1426–1435) of the Ming Dynasty. Each has a pear-shaped body with a slender neck and flared rim. The deep red ground is decorated with dragons in blue among stylized clouds and waves, with lotus flowers and fish motifs in yellow and white. Reign marks on each vase read “大明宣德年製” (Made during the Xuande reign of the Great Ming), with an additional inscription “府川蓮金” (Fu Chuan Lian Jin). Marked on body.
