Magnificent antique English silverplate warming tureen by Mappin & Webb, Sheffield & London. This grand lidded server features a food tray insert and lower chamber designed to hold boiling water, keeping food warm at table. Raised on bold paw feet with acanthus flourishes, and topped by an elegant loop handle finial. Engraved with a lion crest and initials C.M.T., with a notch for ladle service. Impressive scale makes this a stunning buffet centerpiece. Truly quality expected of Mappin & Webb.
