Artist William Glen Davis (c. 1911-2001) worked in the Pittsburgh area. His sculptures and paintings were closely related in subject and style; which some would call Brutalist based on materials, and mid-century modern based on the his geometric abstractions. His birth and death dates have yet to be discovered, but his earliest paintings date to the early 1940s. Everyday he would do a sketch for inspiration, which would often be transformed into a sculpture. These sketches are dated and utilize various drawing materials including marker and ink.
