Perfectly proportioned and delightfully ornate, this wooden birdcage was once home to the pet of a Qing-dynasty aristocrat. Dated to the mid-19th century, this birdcage is carefully assembled from thin strips of wood and fitted with a low perch and a high perch. Features carved wood elements, a door that slides up and down, and 5 beautiful porcelain water/seed bowls. Bowls have a goldfish, a rooster, and a Chinese lady on the sides. Base is footed with round white "feet." As this is an antique, it has wear to the finish, signs of having housed birds, and a crack in the base which is stable. Perfect for a Chinoiserie decor or for the bird lover! Cage measures 12.5" high and 11.5" wide. See less
