The vase stands 7¼ inches tall and comes with its original fitted carved wood stand, enhancing its presence for display.



Each cloisonné panel is finely worked with copper wire inlay, filled with brilliant enamel in red, emerald green, gold, and deep brown. Around the center are alternating phoenix and dragon emblems — ancient symbols of harmony and imperial power in Japanese art.

The vase is marked on the underside with “Japan”, a Sato cloisonné mon, and is believed to date from circa 1880, during Japan’s late Meiji period. The silver-tone metal rims are clean and intact, and the enamel surface is smooth, glossy, and free from chips or cracks. The wood base is in excellent condition and sits flush with the vase.
