This charming Royal Copenhagen figurine captures a sweet moment between two resting pigs, sculpted with warmth and lifelike detail. Designed by renowned artist Erik Nielsen and marked #683, it reflects the exceptional craftsmanship and quiet whimsy the Danish porcelain house is known for. With its soft glaze and gentle curves, it’s a delightful addition to any collection of Scandinavian ceramics or animal-themed decor.
This figurine measures approximately 5" wide by 4 1/2" deep and is in very good overall vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The glaze and coloring are fully intact. The underside bears the classic Royal Copenhagen hallmark, including the three wavy blue lines (symbolizing Denmark’s waterways), the model number 683, and hand-painted decorator initials “VU.” These markings date the piece to the early 1970s.
