A mid-century double feature – upcycled ceramic lamps from wächtersbach
floor lamps constructed from two 1960s wächtersbach vases – very rare. Offered here applies to both vase lamps including lampshades.
these two expressive ceramic lamps were constructed from very special vases from the traditional wächtersbach manufactory – founded in 1832 in hesse and known for its intensely colored glazes, geometric shapes, and bold design. The shapes of these two vases likely date from the 1960s/1970s and embody the typical design of that era: organic silhouette, glossy surface, bold color with subtle nuances. The vases are very rare to find, and the pairing – acquired from different sources – is a stroke of luck with high collector value. The objects were handled carefully during the upcycling process, and the lamps can be reconstructed into vases at any time – without damage. No holes were drilled. The origin of the vases from the wächtersbach manufactory is documented by the base markings on both vases and the sticker marking on the large vase - see photos.
two sizes - one style:
large lamp: height of base without socket: 46 cm, total height with shade: 95 cm, base diameter: 14 cm
the vase is weighted with sand for stability. The wiring is externally connected via an outlet sleeve under the socket (see photo). The green textile cable matches the color of the base and comes with a euro plug, toggle switch, and a new e27 socket. Condition: very good.
smaller lamp: height of base without socket: 30 cm, total height with shade: 65 cm, base diameter: 10 cm. Also weighted with sand for stability. The technology and features are the same as the large lamp. Condition: very good.
lampshades:
both lamps feature cylindrical shades made of sturdy cotton. The densely arranged floral pattern in muted olive, pink, red, and purple is reminiscent of pointillist paintings – when switched on, it creates an atmospheric, warm light with depth and luminosity. Fabric: slightly translucent, colorfast fabric
large shade: ø 30 cm x h 48 cm
small shade: ø 25 cm x h 33 cm
a harmonious duo from german ceramic history with a strong charisma. Timeless, artfully, and with a high-quality finish.
