Constantin and Laurene Leon Boym founded their studio in New York City in 1986.
Boym Partners are acknowledged as the innovators of a contemporary design practice that brings a critical, experimental approach to a wide range of products, infusing humor and wit into the everyday. Their objects are included in the permanent collections of many design museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
In addition to their own line of Boym Editions, coveted by many collectors around the globe, Boym Partners have worked for international roster of companies, including Alessi, Swatch, Swarovski, and Vitra. In 2009 Boym Partners were winners of the National Design Award from the White House. A 220-page book Curious Boym: Design Works (2002) is available from Princeton Architectural Press. Condition: Excellent. No chips or cracks. The object's surface and crevices contain some dust. There is wear and scratching on the underside of the object, including on the identification label. Note on rarity: It can be challenging to find examples of Boym Partners's highly sought after Buildings of Disasters limited edition series, which continues to grow in prestige and is prized by museums and collectors, without chips, breaks, and missing elements. This work is in excellent condition and is being offered by its original owner.
Additional information: Works in this series are included in significant museum collections, including the Brooklyn Museum, SFMoMA, and V&A Museum.
