This high quality brutalist design ceramic art vase was handcrafted during the 1970s by the well-known German ceramist Gisela Meyer-Kaufmann (born in 1921).
Gisela Meyer-Kaufmann had her own workshop 'Eulentöpferei' until the age of 90 in the famous artists' village of Worpswede, close to the city of Bremen in Northern Germany.
In her work the artist experimented with various glaze techniques and pottery shards. She used special different burnt-in ashes for the glazes of her ceramic objects. The beautiful sculptural vase is signed and stamped with the iconic owl-sign on the underside. This piece has an attribution mark,
