He once worked at the Shanghai Museum and taught at the Academy of Fine Arts of Shanghai University. He immigrated to the United States in the early 1990s and worked as a full-time painter for the "World Art Gallery". He is currently a part-time professor at Shanghai University, a Shanghai member of the Chinese Artists Association, and a special painter of the Chinese Opera Figure Painting Research Association.
