Exquisite figural sculpture by French artist Georges Omerth (active 1895–1925), depicting a jaunty young boy in a top hat and formal attire. Rendered in gilt bronze with finely carved alabaster face and hands, and set on a circular marble base.
Omerth was celebrated for his whimsical yet refined depictions of children during the Belle Époque period, and this piece is a superb example of his artistry. Signed “Omerth.”
