Hounds Chasing A Hunt by Thomas Blinks (British, 1853-1910) Circa 1890
This piece is an oil on board. Painting is signed "Th Blinks" on the lower right corner.
The central focus is a pack of hounds in "full cry," actively pursuing a fox through a woodland and stream setting, capturing the intensity and energy of a traditional English fox hunt. Thomas Blinks was known for his exceptional talent in capturing the spirit of the hunt and the anatomy of sporting animals, Blinks' work frequently features detailed depictions of horses and, as seen here, hounds in action.
The frame: 27"X22" and the sight: 17"X13"
