A French Gilt Bronze Figure of a Water Nymph from the Late 19th Century. This sculpture is mounted on a marble base. The base is inscribed with the French phrase "AINSI LA VOLONTE DE NOTRE PERE QUI EST AU CIEL, N'EST PAS QU'AUCUN DE SES PETITS PÉRISSE" which translates to "THUS THE WILL OF OUR FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN, SO HIS LITTLES DO NOT PASS". The bronze bears the mark "GRAUX MARLY FRERE PARIS".
Height of bronze 27in (69cm); width 21in (54cm); depth 14in (30cm); marble base height 3 3/4in (7.5cm); width 25 3/4in (60.5cm); depth 19 1/2in (49.5cm).
