Dolmetsch, 1890, Manuscript and Mural Designs This pair of richly colored lithographic plates by Hermann Dolmetsch, published around 1887 in Stuttgart by Verlag Jul. Hoffmann, presents stunning examples of Romanesque ornamental design as compiled in the monumental work *Ornamentenschatz* (Treasure of Ornament). The two prints—plate 35 titled Manuscript-Malerei und Email and plate 36 titled Wandmalerei—capture the intricate and symbolic visual language of medieval ecclesiastical decoration.
