This jar features a double happiness motif, with cobalt blue underglaze floral decorations on the body and double happiness symbols painted on both sides. Blue and white wedding jars have been popular in China since ancient times. Although most were made in folk kilns, keeping them in good condition is not easy. At Chinese weddings, covered wedding jars were custom-made and placed in pairs on the entrance table as decorative objects, carrying great significance. Today, they are also favored by novice collectors of antique Chinese porcelain. They come in various shapes (see the last photo), making them even more attractive when displayed together.
