A detailed, deep hardwood carving of a finely dressed immortal holding a vase of flowers. The beard, vase, face and robe are extremely finely carved. The wood has a light yellow is brown tone with traces of paint or lacquer .
The carving stands on a slightly rectangular softwood platform that is painted black. There are no marks or labels.
MEASUREMENTS
7 5/8 in (19.4 cm) tall x 2 ¾ in (7.0 cm) wide x 2 5/8 in (6.7 cm) deep. Weighs 8.8 oz.
CONDITION
There is a crack in the robe by the hand with the vase and another small crack on the front of the robe by his feet. Most of the original lacquers have worn off with traces of dark brown on the robe, black on the hair, and yellow on the lower folds. The wood has a soft feel from handling.
