This authentic example, made in Italy and retaining its original Busnelli label, is upholstered in the original high-stretch technical fabric — a smooth, glossy polyamide-elastane blend (similar to Lycra). Developed specifically for this chair in the early 1970s, this textile was chosen for its exceptional elasticity and ability to follow the chair’s dramatic contours without wrinkles or distortion. It enhances the fluid, ribbon-like form of the chair while giving it a distinctly futuristic presence.
The Fiocco Chair is included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.
