Pair of 20th-century French Louis XV style bergère armchairs upholstered in a striped fabric with red/burnt orange, sage green, and cream. The wood frames with curvilinear and ornate design hallmarks of the Rococo period. Each chair features a beautifully carved frame with intricate floral and scroll motifs on the crest, apron, and knees of the legs. The classic cabriole legs terminate in a subtle scroll.
They appear to have been re-upholstered in recent years as the fabric is in excellent condition and finished with a decorative nailhead trim. The generously padded cushions on the seat are removable and have zipper enclosures.
Given the more current fabric pattern, these bergères offer the perfect blend of the traditional French design with a more contemporary feel.
