This is a lovely Antique Hand-blown Mercury Glass Tree Topper from Germany. It was issued by Max Echardt & Sons … Read more This is a lovely Antique Hand-blown Mercury Glass Tree Topper from Germany. It was issued by Max Echardt & Sons out of NYC branded under the Shiny Brite label. It’s in very good vintage condition with the Turquoise, Ruby Red and Silver coloring with only minimal paint loss. The topper features a globe at the bottom with three indents that have a ruby red center. The spiral has Turquoise and Ruby accents. Originally sold at Skaggs Drug Centers. Original box included, marked Western Germany plus a paper Germany tag on the topper. In 1937, Max Echardt moved production of Shiny Brite Christmas ornaments state-side to avoid production disruptions. In 1939 he formally started the Shiny Brite company. This Tree Topper was produced in Germany before 1937.
