Featuring an elegant baroque silhouette with … Read more A stunning hand-painted ceramic vase by ernani of albisola, italy, dating to the 1940s. Featuring an elegant baroque silhouette with a wide flared rim and bulbous body, the piece is richly decorated in traditional blue and white maiolica. One side presents a lyrical scene with two flying putti surrounded by stylized foliage and floating clouds. On the reverse, a finely painted architectural fantasy depicts a cascading hilltown crowned by towers — all framed by decorative scrolling vegetation. A delicate frieze of rocaille motifs runs around the base and lip, uniting the design with rhythmic grace. The overall execution, especially in the soft brushstrokes and narrative composition, demonstrates a deep connection to the ligurian ceramic tradition while evoking an almost dreamlike vision of classicism. Signed “ernani albisola” on the underside. A collector’s piece, in excellent vintage condition. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
