As with all of Ghigo's pieces, the angel's features and details are extraordinary. The gilded water jug is open at the top to hold a small candle.

Camillo Ghigo (1912-1992) was an Italian artist, painter, and sculptor, particularly known for his work with ceramics. He is recognized as an important figure in Italian artistic ceramics, particularly for his contributions in the mid-20th century. Ghigo collaborated on several occasions with the Turin ceramic manufacturer "Lenci", between 1934 and 1946, creating a large number of models and decorations. In the mid 1930s Ghigo founded "Keramos di Ghigo", then "Ceramiche d'Arte Mastro Ghigo", and collaborated with numerous ceramic manufacturers in Turin including Sandro Vacchetti's "Essevi", the "Ars Pulcra" by Bartolomeo Camisassa, the "Igni" by Nello Franchini and the "Ceramica di Nobili" by Quenda and Alberto Nobili.
