This original signed inkwash drawing by listed American artist Yolanda Fusco (Czech/USA 1920 - 2009) depicts a provocative abstracted standing femasle nude. This extremely well drawn image dates to the mid - late 20th century.. Painted on one side only. Fusco has an extensive auction record and her works hang in the Monhegan museum of Art, Owen Gallery and many private collections.

Born 1920 in former Czechoslovakia, Yolanda Fusco (born Yolanda Orminsky) moved with her family to New York City at the age of ten. Showing interest in art from an early age, Fusco took advantage of New York’s institutions and furthered her technical education at the Art Students League studying with Ernest Fiene, Harry Sternberg, and Vaclao Vytlacil, and later studied textile design at Pratt Institute. Fusco married a chemist and had two children but continued to pursue her passion for art via her job as a textile designer and through teaching art to adults at various art clubs. Falling in love with Monhegan Island after a short visit at the urging of her friends, Fusco proceeded to paint the island’s scenery many times and has become known for her sparse abstract depictions of it. Her other subjects include female nudes, interior painting and cityscapes. Today Fusco’s art can be found in the Monhegan Museum of Art and History and Owen Art Gallery at Gould Academy as well as in a number of private collections.
