Boch Fères Keramis was founded in 1844 by Eugène and Victor Boch whose family owned the famous ceramics manufacturer Villeroy & Boch.
Around 1874 the factory began producing fine hand painted ceramics in Delft style by recruiting Delft painters from the Nethertherlands. These Delft style products are known as pieces from the 'Chambre des Peintres Hollandais' (the Dutch painters chamber) series and are signed with a hand painted mark with overlapping three letters B F K, as seen on this piece.
