Angela Occhipinti
was born in Perugia and lives and works in Milan. She studied in Florence and graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts. She specialized in Graphic Arts and Engraving Techniques at the Magistero d'Arte in Florence, under the guidance of Pietro Parigi for woodcuts and Giuseppe Viviani for copperplate engraving.
She has undertaken study trips to Austria, Germany, and France. She worked in Paris at the Leblanc and Mourlot printing houses, meeting Picasso and Mirò. with Hayter, she explored the chemical processes involved in the use of colored inks, varying in viscosity, during printing, and the varnishes and acids inherent in copperplate engraving. In Bologna, she attended Giorgio Morandi's workshop.
In 1958, she moved to Milan. She worked with Lucio Fontana, with whom she gained complementary experience in ceramic art at Martinotti's workshop, and in engraving at Giorgio Upiglio's Grafica Uno in Milan.
