A small, stunning sculpture in silver-plated white metal (similar to the French regule, which is harder and heavier than antimony, and was used by several artists, especially in the 20th century). It depicts an adult male deer with large antlers, in a characteristic Art Deco pose. It sits on a polished Carrara marble base and dates to the early 20th century, around 1920-1940, and was made in France. The sculpture is unsigned, but it incorporates many elements from the artistic work of Pierre Joseph HUGONNET, a celebrated 20th-century French artist, to whom we can attribute the authorship of our sculpture.

Final considerations on the item:
The evident antique patina covering the entire sculpture is very beautiful and dates to the early 20th century. The stag's pose is particularly interesting and rare, with its muzzle pointing upward and its long antlers descending to its back. The animal is undoubtedly trumpeting, as its mouth is slightly open. Finally, the heavy base in polished Carrara marble is beautiful, crowning a highly valuable Deco sculpture. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
