Characteristic features of this set of side tables include the sculpturally shaped transitions between table top, edges and table legs which are influenced by the anthroposophical design movement.

After working for several London architects Rex Raab moved to Germany where he started sculptural studies at the famous Goetheanum in Dornach 1936-1939. Later Rex Raab designed pieces of furniture for the manufacturers Erwin Behr and Wilhelm Renz, both of which were based in the greater Stuttgart area.
