The manufactory was established in 1740 and quickly gained prestige, becoming a symbol of French luxury and artistry. This particular style is often associated with the 19th-century French royalty, specifically King Louis-Philippe's Royal Hunting Service for the Château de Fontainebleau. During the Louis-Philippe period (1830-1848), Sèvres continued to produce exquisite pieces, often incorporating elaborate gilding, detailed figural scenes, and vibrant colors. The hunting scenes and ornate borders seen on this plate are characteristic of the period, reflecting the opulence and refined taste of the time.
