A 19th century Italian Venetian Carved Walnut Gondola chair.
This style of chair is characterized by its unique shape, which is said to resemble the curvilinear form of an 18th-century Venetian gondola boat. It features a high, ornately carved back that curves downwards to form the arms, which then connect to the seat via curved supports. The chair exhibits rich carvings, including what appear to be stylized beast heads on the armrests and possibly the winged lion of St. Mark on the crest, a common Venetian motif.
