Nautical cigar cutter with a hole and cutting blade in the column. When the wheel is turned, the blade is engaged to cut the tip off the cigar. This cutter has been meticulously polished and lacquered. The base has a brass plate embossed "SS Sierra Ventana." SS Sierra Ventana was a steamship built for North German Lloyd in 1912. This item would have been sold in the ship’s gift shop.
