This hand-built ceramic figure features a stylized and abstract interpretation of an owl, with oversized, deeply incised eyes, a prominent beak, and textured plumage rendered in high relief. The sculptor used a rich, earthy brown clay body and a contrasting matte beige glaze to emphasize the owl’s facial features, feathers, and feet
The underside is signed with incised initials and the year it was made, 1974. Three small vent holes on the base imply it may nave originally served a functional purpose possibly as a rattle, though it now stands beautifully on its own as a decorative object or collectible,
