This exceptional Chinese Kangxi-style blue and white baluster-shaped table lamp is decorated with a continuous narrative of an outdoor scene. The lamp's body is painted with a Chinese warrior on stage, surrounded by a procession of figures carrying flags and banners, set amidst tall trees and architectural structures. Both the subject matter and its fine execution evoke the grandeur of a bygone era. The piece is further enhanced by a splayed foot, adding both elegance and stability to this impressive lamp.
