Chinese porcelain Taoist cartouche bitong, a solidly potted brushpot with gently flaring sides, a celadon glazed exterior, and a white/ light orange glazed interior and white glazed circular inset centered in the unglazed portion of the base which is encircled by a wide, white glazed band. Two large cartouches adorn the exterior sides with finely drawn, Taoist implements and symbols in red, white glazes outlined in black. A blue, Shu Jin Tang Zhi, place mark in kaishu script is glazed to the inset base. Circa late 19th century, no later than Circa Republic of China era.
