This gorgeous French Country style Farmhouse table is a family heirloom. It was crafted in the 1860s from Kentucky Pine by an ancestor of a family in Kentucky named Robinson. It’s been handed down through the generations to family members. The legs are hand-turned and features a trestle support supporting the four legs. The top is three pieces of hand-hewed planks. It has hand-forged nails with wood chip corks over the nails. On the underside you will see family members have performed some repairs to the table. The original thick hewn wood cross brace planks of wood have been removed. Newer planks have been added and the original gap between the apron and table top - the gap has been filled in. As it sits today, the table is in very stable and sturdy condition. It’s aged to a Chestnut color. Originally it would have been lighter in color.
