André Jacquemin, born in Épinal on September 3, 1904 and died in Paris on January 16, 1992[2], was a French … Read more André Jacquemin, born in Épinal on September 3, 1904 and died in Paris on January 16, 1992[2], was a French painter, printmaker, and illustrator.
In 1928, he founded, along with eleven other printmakers—including Yves Alix, Amédée de La Patellière, and Robert Lotiron—the Société de la jeune gravure contemporaine (Young Contemporary Engraving Society) and in 1936 was awarded the Grand Prix National des Arts, the first prize awarded to an engraver. In 1937, he represented French printmaking at the Venice Biennale[3].

In 1953, he became curator of the Musée de l'Image and the Musée Départemental des Vosges in Épinal.

He created nearly 1,000 prints and numerous book illustrations.

His works are featured in several French and foreign museums. This piece has an attribution mark,
