A refined original 18th-century copperplate etching by Nicolò Billy, taken from the monumental work "Le Antichità di Ercolano Esposte," published by the Royal Printing House of Naples in 1757.
The work depicts a classical-style scene inspired by the frescoes discovered in the archaeological excavations of Herculaneum, depicting seated and standing female figures, a winged putto, and a male figure, in an elegant neoclassical style. The dark background highlights the delicacy of the draperies and the purity of the forms, executed with extreme technical precision.
The engraving is accompanied by a frame (with red mat and gilded edges), a protective glass, and an information sheet on the back certifying its origin and characteristics:
