There’s a dark Gauloise going—a habit picked up in those student years in Paris—with smoke emitting from the chrome stand, the painter taking drags only occasionally rather than interrupting pouring paint on this work. Bits of bent snaps for texture. The artist is too modest (their signature is regrettably indecipherable) but talented. Energy circulating, like some cosmic event, as if the universe were pale blue. Speaking of colors, a pleasing palette to take the edge off this unfathomable birth of a star in daylight.
