Substantial Japanese Kutani vase, converted as a table lamp. Dating to the Meiji period (late 19th to early 20th century), this piece showcases the refined craftsmanship characteristic of early Kutani ware.

With a bulbous body and elongated neck, the vase is decorated in a rich palette of iron red, gilt, and grisaille. It features two large, lobed medallions: one depicting two geishas and a child, the other showcasing an elegant birds-and-flowers motif framed by traditional geometric patterns. Marked on the base with a red, hand-painted Kutani mark.

Converted for modern use as a table lamp, this piece brings timeless Japanese artistry into contemporary interiors. Complement it with a bold silk shade to accentuate the vibrant colors in the design.
