Beautifully preserved pair of Italian botanical engravings titled “Xylon Arboreum” and "Senna Occidental's", with hand-applied watercolor over finely printed linework. Each piece is printed on artisanal laid paper with deckled edges and bears the embossed mark:
"Pittura a mano originale Ponte Vecchio", indicating hand-colored authenticity from a Florentine print studio near the historic Ponte Vecchio bridge in Florence, Italy.
These are faithful 20th-century reproductions of 17th–18th century botanical engravings, featuring rich naturalist detail, delicate butterfly accents, and classical Latin titling. The paper texture, coloration, and embossing reflect exceptional craftsmanship. Signed P. Soyer Sculp, marked P.V. 23. and P.V. 28.
Professionally framed in solid wood with a gently distressed finish, archival quality materials, UV-protective plexiglass glazing. ready to hang.
