Chinese framed porcelain Buddhist temple plaque diptych of matching, left and right facing, standing Kuan Yins, finely drawn and detailed … Read more Chinese framed porcelain Buddhist temple plaque diptych of matching, left and right facing, standing Kuan Yins, finely drawn and detailed in gold on a blue background. Both Kuan Yins are wearing the Crown of Amitabha, with long flowing robes decorated with flowers, displaying a plain halo, the urna, the ushnisha and long earlobes. They clasp the Hu Xi (tiger pewter staff), while their other hand, held near the heart, is in jnana mudra. A large Fu Lion protects them at their feet, which are planted on lotus pads. The signature of the artist, "Minister Ding Guanpeng, respectfully, painting", with two small seal marks, is found at the lower left and lower right of each respective image. Three, larger, red seal marks are seen at the top of each plaque. Each plaque is mounted in its original, finely carved, Chinese, heavy, hongmu frame with bronze hanger and intact, removable backs. Circa Republic of China era or earlier.

Each frame is 35.5 high x 20 7/8" wide x 1 1/4" deep
