Beautiful vintage decorative wall pocket featuring an elaborate shell, acanthus leaf, and scrolling foliate motif with strong Italianate and Rococo influence. The sculptural relief has wonderful depth and an aged, timeworn surface that gives the piece character and authenticity.
The wall pocket is finished in a warm antique ivory/cream tone, with natural variations, surface texture, small imperfections, and areas of discoloration consistent with age and use. A simple wire hanger is present on the reverse for wall mounting.
A particularly versatile decorative accent for a traditional, Italianate, French Country, European coastal, or British West Indies-inspired interior. It would be beautiful displayed alone or paired with a second architectural or botanical piece.
