The D36 armchair was designed in the 1980s by Axel Bruchhäuser, a key figure in the German design house Tecta. Passionate about the great names of modernism, he drew strong inspiration from the structural research of Jean Prouvé for this model with its taut, minimalist lines. Tecta, founded in 1956 and led by Bruchhäuser from the 1970s, has established itself as an iconic house in the reissue and interpretation of Bauhaus and Constructivist classics.
This model rests on a chrome-plated, curved steel tube frame, forming an adjustable cantilevered base. The seat and backrest are made of braided synthetic cord, providing excellent seating flexibility.
A fine example of late 20th-century German design, combining homage and innovation.
