From his website bio:

Richard Joseph was born in Chicago and grew up in the city and suburbs. He received a BA degree in philosophy from Dartmouth College and a Master of Fine Arts in painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Upon graduation he was awarded the Edward L. Ryerson Foreign Traveling Fellowship, and spent a year in Italy painting and studying Italian art.

After returning to the US, he lived and worked in Los Angeles for 20 years before moving to Brooklyn and then lastly to Vermont. He now lives and works in Winooski, Vermont.


His work is represented in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the James A. Michener Collection at the Blanton Museum of Art, University of Texas, and in many private collections. See less
