Jean Antoine Houdon was dubbed "The Sculptor of the Enlightenment" and this is a reproduction of a famous work done in 1777 that currently resides in the Louvre. Reproductions like this were very popular in France in the 19th and early 20th century. The age of this particular one is indeterminate but probably dates to at least the early 20th century. This classic and elegant piece evokes the wonderful innocence of childhood, and is in remarkable condition for its age. See less
