Early edition Barcelona chairs in black leather, Mies van der Rohe, Knoll International Originally designed in 1926 for the International Exposition, the Barcelona chair was reconfigured in 1950 from a two-part bolted frame to a single stainless steel frame as seen here, Knoll continued production from 1953 to the present, and lists this chair as one of the most recognized objects of the last century. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
