A white heron or coastal egret makes the perfect yard ornament. This iron avian came from an estate sale in Palos Verdes where it stood for years. It is mid century modern, and others like it were made in Japan, though there is no mark. It could use a fresh coat of white paint, but it still presents well as is.
Its head is up and it appears to be calling. Somewhere out there, it has friends and relatives. We only have this single piece.
