Chinese porcelain rooster bitong, a finely formed brush pot with straight sides, a blue and white glazed exterior and a white glazed interior and inset base. The body of the pot is decorated with a rooster and two hens amid bamboo, grasses and a flowering, gnarled plum tree. An inscription in blue, xingshu script is glazed to the opposite side A Yuan Wen Wu Guo Zhi Zhai studio mark, in blue, zhuanshu script, is glazed to the inset base. The finely carved, traditional Chinese, hongmu stand is included. Circa Republic of China period or later.
