At first glance, the earthy taupe and olive field appears austere and minimal, but a closer look reveals a narrow vertical slit running through the center—peeling back the painted "skin" to expose a vivid interior of color, form, and suggestion.

Two abstracted, almost totemic shapes emerge from this central cleft—one glowing in electric yellow, the other in deep red, green, and shadow. Their presence feels symbolic, like glimpses into memory, myth, or concealed narrative. A stark white trompe l'oeil cord weaves through the work, emphasizing its verticality and theatrical, curtain-like effect. A subtle "X" in the lower left quadrant adds a final note of enigma.
