About Arly Jones: "Arly Jones (Juan M. Navarro Puchaes) is a Spanish filmmaker and illustrator who started his professional career in 1990 in Barcelona, participating in multiple projects of publicity, editorials, architecture, decoration, toy designs, and animation cinema.
Currently, he combines his career with teaching, conducting the subject of animation cinema in the Audio-visual Communication degree at Miguel Hernández University in Elche, Spain.
In 2009, with the filmmaker Sami Natshet, he launched the studio “Flying Head” to develop new animation talents and produce animated movies.
Since then, he has actively directed and participated as a “storyboards” artist, character designs, scenery designs, and “concept art” and animator.
Among all his work, his artistic labor as a draftsman stands out in the reproduction of the film “Chico y Rita”, (2010, Javier Mariscal and Fernando Trueba), Winner in the European Cinema Awards, animation category (2011), Winner of the Goya Award to the Best animation film (2012) and nominated that same year for the Oscar awards of the Cinema Academy in the U.S.
“Up in the Sky”, (2015) musical video of the “Kapland” band with thirteen awards in international contests.
“Colours” (2017) animation short film with six awards in international festivals and was nominated for the Goya Awards.
In 2014 won the prize for the best mural design and executed in a public space, by the Council of Alicante, in a public park in Golf San Juan, in Alicante.
Holds an award for the best male interpretation, “Creando Film Festival Burgos” in the only cinema project he has performed in this category for the short film “Fredo” (2016 Arrebato Films), carried out by pupils of Miguel Hernandez University, Álvar Bermejo, Salva Feltrer, and Alberto Zamora.
He has created training programs in animation and illustration and has conducted workshops in countries such as Venezuela, Mexico, Portugal, and Cyprus, as well as at the international animation school L’Idem in Barcelona.
Since 2006, special activities regarding childhood education through artistic disciplines have been developed, highlighting the coordination and participation in the “Young Talents Campus” of “Mustang Art Gallery”.
His illustrations have appeared in press and international magazines as well as in numerous sets of television series and publicity spots."
