Rare set of Danish Art Deco table lamps made by Michael Andersen & Sons in the 1940s. The lamp bases are made from stoneware with a grey / purple craquelé "Persia" glazing. The lamps have been mounted with white flax linen shades. Both are marked with labels underneath.
Michael Andersen & Sons were founded in 1890 by Jens Michael Andersen. The special "Persia" glaze was created in the early-1930s by Daniel Folkmann Andersen (1885-1959), the eldest son of the founder. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
