The Chinese carving of a male water bearer with a boy at his feet. The carved teak figure has a rectangular cartouche on the reverse with Chinese markings. There are some hairlines and one crack down the back, which does not affect the integrity of the piece. It is quite solid and in remarkably good condition otherwise.
